Clutch Fitting Servicing

Your clutch is an essential part of your car.

While your only experience is maybe pressing

down on the clutch pedal each time you want

to move up or down a gear, inside there’s a lot

more going on that you don’t see.

The clutch assembly is made up of three

components: the friction plate, the pressure

plate and the release bearing. In simple terms

they are actuated by your clutch pedal via either

a hydraulic or cable clutch. If you have a hydraulic

clutch, you will also have a master and slave cylinder. Therefore any one of these components could fail due to this constant repetitive action, so please don’t assume that the whole assembly needs replacing as it could be something less costly, such as a clutch cable or in the case of a hydraulic system, the master or slave cylinder.

Five Signs That You Need A New Clutch Or Clutch Component.

These are five signs to watch out for when it comes to your vehicle’s performance that mean you could need a clutch replacement:

If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms it may now be the time to get your clutch checked out. We can carry out a free check and advise you which component may need replacing and the correct action to take.
